Lavender Vinegar

Vinegars are usually used in the kitchen for cooking or flavoring, but they are also useful as cosmetic toners and astringents. Floral vinegars, diluted with clear spring water, can be used daily to improve the texture of the skin.

Spring has Sprung

How about organizing a "Get the Garden Together" Tea Party this month? As the weather warms up and we begin to turn the soil and clear out old brush to make way for the new, we experience a sense of wonder at the workings of nature and the rejuvenation of Spring. Celebrate the spring with a small friendly garden party/ work session! Take turns prepping each other's garden plots and make a civilized event of it. Plan a tea break into the work party and use the following suggested menu:

Garden Work Tea Party

Raspberry Tea (hot or iced!)

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Lemon Angel Food Cake

Scones with Mock Devonshire Cream

and Gertie's Apricot Raspberry Jam
